Sultry Flapper Diva in Blue

Oh my.  The eyes, the lips, the hand, the jewelry.  Such a Diva, not to be trifled with.  If looks could kill, as they say.

Beautiful Victorian Edwardian Girl Photo

I know I can't ever go wrong with another photograph of a beautiful little girl.  I love the flowers in her hair, and I couldn't resist adding a little soft tint.  This young model appears on quite a few of the old Paris photo postcards in my collection.  I wish I knew her name.

Wildflower Botanical Print

This is a page scanned from an old botanical garden book.  The picture is an illustration of Sweet Alyssum -- I'm sure this is a European variety but I've had alyssum in my garden here in the South too.  It's a lovely print, and perfect for late May when spring is starting to turn into summer.  Enjoy and come back!  (Look in the lefthand navigation panel to follow me by google, email, or pinterest!)

Little Girl Vintage French Postcard

For today, another antique French postcard.  This one I think was mailed from French Algiers.  I left the postage mark and the little green French stamp.  Sometimes I like them left on.  Such a cute little Victorian girl, daydreaming away.  Maybe the foreign postmark on this picture feels right because her thoughts seem far away.

Vintage Postcard for Memorial Day

On Memorial Day (once upon a time called Remembrance Day), here is a lovely image and sentiment by the one-and-only Ellen Clapsaddle, one of the most beloved and recognizable illustrators of Victorian Edwardian era postcards.  Original Clapsaddle cards can be expensive, and while I have quite a few I had to borrow this one.  (Thanks to Lunagirl for permission to share this card from her Holiday Volume 3 collection.)

Happy Birthday, to my youngest little one!

I thought you would like this sweet Victorian greeting card with a little bird and bright flower like the ones in our garden.  :-)

Charming Vintage Bird's Nest Image

Anything garden or woodland or having to do with birds, I'm fond of.  I hope you're fond of this cute little vintage image, adapted from an antique Victorian nature book, showing a blackbird's nest and egg.

Diva! Free Vintage Photo Postcard

I absolutely love these photo postcards of Victorian Edwardian actresses and have quite a collection.  Here is one that just cries out for a caption, or to embellish a card or scrapbook.  Any ideas what's on this fabulous diva's mind?

Paris Postcard with Pansies and Bees

Here is another French carte postale image, with the addition of some lovely garden pansies and some little bees and moths.  This is an altered image I have created myself.  Enjoy for personal use ~ and please credit my blog if you publish something.  Thanks!  Have a blessed day.

Carte Postale with French Handwriting

What could be lovelier than an antique postcard with writing in French?  This one was sent to a Mademoiselle in Amiens on August 18, 1906.  Just a simple Happy Birthday message, but holding it is like holding a little piece of the past and communing with someone who probably passed away long ago.  Anyway, here it is scanned for you to use and enjoy!  This is a nice large image so you can use it for large backgrounds if you like, but you can also resize and use it smaller if you prefer.  Blessings!  Follow me and come back!

Springtime Victorian Angel with Pink Flowers

Let's start with one of my favorite angels for good luck!  Isn't she gorgeous?  This lovely angelic lady is an antique "scrap" diecut that I've scanned and cleaned up for you.  Please enjoy this beautiful Victorian angel in pink for personal use (and please credit my blog if you publish a piece that uses the image ~ thanks!)

Hello! Welcome to free vintage images from Emily's Image Garden!

Hi!  Since I was a child I've loved old books and cards and photos, and old things in general (buttons, costume jewelry, kitchenware...sigh).  I've amassed quite a collection of vintage ephemera, vintage photos and postcards, antique books, and such.

Old paper is wonderful for crafts and scrapbooking and altered art, as you may know, but to me it's a shame to damage or alter the old original.  With that in mind, I started scanning pieces in my collection to use, and I've decided it would be fun to share my stash!

My goal is to offer at least one image a day, at least during the week.  So be sure to follow my blog and get fresh-picked images every day!
